Mexican Opal is famous for its vibrant yellow, orange, or red colors. The special thing about opal is that it has tiny spheres of silicon dioxide mixed with water, forming a unique structure. When these spheres have some imperfections, it creates a stunning “play of color” effect, similar to the colors in a soap bubble but even more impressive. However, Mexican opal showing this effect is quite rare because it forms quickly in volcanic conditions, and the spheres don’t often have enough time to create this colorful display.
