Can you believe it is the last day of the challenge?
Day 6 of the MetalSmith Challenge: 🛠️
Today marks the final day of the earring challenge, and it’s hard to believe how quickly time has passed.
For this last day, I’ve decided to create something even more special.
Yesterday, our project involved crafting asymmetrical Grape Agate earrings. Today, I’ve chosen to make asymmetrical earrings with a prong setting.
My selected crystals for this project are beautiful Indonesian Petrified Wood with a gorgeous Rose Cut Garnet.
Talking about prong settings, here’s the deal: I need to solder each wire and 2 jump rings to the metal one by one.
The tricky part? When I solder one side, the other can fall due to the extensive heat.
Some use water to cool one part while soldering the other. But I prefer a different trick.
I cover all the metal with a titanium plate. This plate soaks up the heat and keeps everything from melting.
I’m sorry if I got a bit technical about making prong settings. I just wanted to show you how much hard work is put into making Handmade jewelry.
Now, onto our favorite section: Channeling crystals.
I didn’t go too far to reserve the more deep insides for someone who orders earrings along with a personalized channeled message.
Petrified Wood and Garnet carry powerful energy. These crystals will work on your first 3 chakras, helping you tap into your feminine energy.
The fascinating pattern on the Petrified Wood symbolizes layers of energy within the Earth. These energetic lines will cross with your own ley lines, giving you deep grounding and a strong connection to the planet.
Oh, these earrings are really something.
